ExpectimaxConfig
dicechess.engine.search.ExpectimaxConfig
final case class ExpectimaxConfig(candidateLimit: Int = ..., exactOnlyMode: Boolean = ..., searchDepth: Int = ...)
Tuning for ExpectimaxSearch.
Value parameters
- candidateLimit
-
how many of the mover's own turns (pre-ranked by ExpectimaxSearch's
preRank, material by default) are expanded to full depth. Dice Chess routinely offers hundreds of legal turns per roll, so expanding all of them through a chance node is infeasible; this bounds the branching at the decision node. Must be positive. - exactOnlyMode
-
when true, the transposition table stores and reuses exact entries only. This is primarily a validation mode for comparing cached and uncached trees without fail-soft bound reuse.
- searchDepth
-
number of full-turn plies in the expectimax tree. Depth 2 preserves the historical
MAX → CHANCE → MIN → leafsearch; depth 3 addsCHANCE → MAX → leafafter every opponent reply so exchanges include our recapture.
